What can you tell me about food in Granada?

What can you tell me about the culinary history of Granada? What is the food scene like? What are the popular dishes in the region?

  1. Theer have been many discussions on this board in regard to Granada. Just use the search function at the top of the page and you will find a wealth of information.

    1. Food of Granada have much similarities with those the rest of Andalucia. Some of the food have Moorish influences such as the use of honey/sweet and nuts in savory dishes, food fried in oil, Gazpacho in the summer and salmorejo other times of the year; drink sherry with tapas, and vinegar made with sherry use in salads and cooking. Peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, dried beans, seafood, lamb, jamon, etc., Granada does not have great high-end restaurants; tapas places are everywhere in the city. These have been many earlier posts of these on this board.

      1. A tapa for free with your glass of beer or wine is a tradition in Granada. Good tapas bars in central Granada:
