Steakhouse - please help me narrow down
I am taking my fiancé out for a special birthday dinner and he loves steak, which we do not eat very often. I'm looking for a nice place to get a piece of juicy, salty charred edge meat with excellent hospitality and service (nearish to Radio City would be a bonus). I've narrowed down the CH suggestions to the following based on reviews:
- Sparks (like the old school feel, but mixed reviews on service and meat quality - do they dry age?)
- Del Frisco's (again, mixed reviews and pricey for what you get)
- BLT Steak (not NY enough?)
- Quality Meats
Any suggestions on side, dessert and wine choices would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

my friends and I do a steak dinner every month or so...our favorites so far have been: Strip House (incredible), Del Friscos (also incredible) followed by maybe Sparks (great sides including their creamed spinach and bacon) and also Wolfgangs (awesome seafood starter plate). I also like Dylan Prime but that is too far downtown for your show at Radio City.

re: M Marks The Spot
Went to Del Frisco's last night. Based upon the seafood "tower" appetizer I could not recommend any of their seafood choices. The bone-in rib eye was excellent, the sides fine though nothing special. It gets very loud there, so be warned.

Del Friscos! Ignore the fact that it's a chain out of Houston. The steaks are great, consistent, and the sides are wonderful. Especially the onion rings and sweet potatoes. the crabcake isnt bad either. And it's close to where you want to be. Sure the vibe is a bit corporate but it's a solid choice.

re: kam0424
Non-VIPs can only get 5pm and 6pm reservations at Minetta Tavern anyway, so this works in your favor. Then walk 5 minutes to the West 4th Street station and take the uptown B/D/F/M to Rockefeller Center. Very easy, should only take 15-20 minutes. The opener will start at 8pm, headliner at Radio City doesn't usually come on until later, like 8:45 or 9, so you should be fine if you're a bit tardy.

Most of those you listed are chain restaurants. Sparks is the only "old school," "NY" spot that you have listed, and the crowd is pretty obnoxious, IMO.
