union sq delivery
I just moved into the area and am having a hard time finding solid delivery options.
any suggestions? I tend to eat on the healthier side (used to order from westville a lot) but all options and genre of foods are welcomed and appreciated.
Thank you!
For pizza and basic italian pastas and salads I've been ordering from Piola for a while now. Not super great but better than the other options I've tried. Or Patsy's University but the pies are sometimes salty and soggy.
For a step up in quality Italian, La Carbonara on west 14th may deliver if you're not too far away.
For Thai/malaysian it's easy - Laut on 17th.
Good luck finding decent consistent Chinese delivery -- Charlie Mom, Sammy's, Homes kitchen, etc. it's all meh.
Mexican - Rosa Mexicano but it aint cheap.
Anyone have recs for falafel? (Pita Joe doesnt deliver)
Japanese?

I'm sure Grand Sichuan St Marks would deliver to Union Square. Another place to check is Legend, which seems to serve less oily versions of some dishes than I've had at other Sichuan places. It wouldn't surprise me if they'd deliver from 7th Av. Their portions are unbelievably humongous, though, so keep that in mind.

for Japanese, Yama delivers. not exactly cheap, but it's also a hell of a lot better than what you'd get from the average delivery place.

For good italian, I'm pretty sure Otto delivers,
Num Pang has amazing sandwiches and delivers after 2pm last I remember.
L'Annam and Saigon Grill are both super cheap and filling.

I didn't realize Num Pang delivered. The sandwiches my father and I had there seemed like pretty healthy sandwiches.

Pita Joe has delivered in the past. Other options are University Pita on East 12th (kosher, so pricier, but really good, with great Iraqi beef kebabs) and the new Ole Kebab on 14th between 5th and 6th -- I haven't tried their falafel yet, but the lamb shish is delish.
For Chinese, I think the best bet is The Cottage on Irving and 16th.
For Mexican: there's a hole-in-the-wall next to the Chipotle on 6th just south of 14th. It's called Bagel Buffet or something, but they have wonderful cooked-to-order tacos, burritos, tortas, etc. I'm pretty sure they deliver.

I haven't been to The Cottage lately, but it used to suck. Is is under new management or something?

I know you said healthy.
But in light of the katz's vs. sarge's debate.
Sarge's for their soup and kasha varnishkas when you get sick.
