    Needless to say, our governments will, as usual, bow down to yours. But folk still won't buy GM crap.

      You may have less choice than you seem to think. Monsanto operates by making it very hard for growers to profitably grow anything but their (often GM) product.

      Please don't just gloss over this, Europeans.

        In the UK, we beat the GMers last time and we'll do it again. There was sufficient consumer backlash onto the supermarkets that the attempt just fizzled away. The danger for us is that, living on a small island, we have to import a lot of food and it may become difficult to control those imports from countries in America's imperial backyard.
