Recommendation for great Portland brunch to impress former teacher!!

My high school English teacher--and my favorite teacher--is coming to town for a weekend this month. We've lived here for 20 years but don't do brunch often. I'd like a place where we can linger and visit and not be pushed out of the table. Would also be nice if it were fairly reasonable (i.e., not a $35 buffet as in Salty's) with consistently good food. I've been to Mother's, but it's so busy that you feel rushed. I also don't want to wait an hour in line. Any recommendations, or am I asking too much??

    You might enjoy Bijiou.

I would consider Urban Farmer or Irving Street Kitchen. Both places ought to take reservations for brunch and are far more impressive on all axes than Mother's (or Bijou, as mentioned above).
