I'm looking for a great restaurant in Atlanta-- I'm coming to town on a Friday through Saturday afternoon and am staying at the Hyatt Regency, so I'm looking for some place close to that area or a quick subway or cab ride away. I have about 90$ to spend. What do you think?

  1. You might want to do a search of the board for "hyatt" or "downtown"...here is one such previous post:

You might also want to do a search for "midtown" and "buckhead"' which are accessible by cab or train and have many options. I have greatly enjoyed Ecco in Midtown, and it's about 2 blocks from the Midtown Marta station.

    1. Best restaurants in town are Bacchanalia, Restaurant Eugene and Aria. Of these, Aria will probably come closest to your $90 mark. Your bill at the other two could be higher, depending on your choice of beverage. You might also consider Empire State South, Sotto Sotto and Miller Union.

      Restaurant Eugene
2277 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

      Sotto Sotto
      313 N. Highland Ave., Atlanta, GA 30307

      Miller Union
999 Brady Ave Suite 106, Atlanta, GA 30318

If you like cocktails, you might enjoy sitting at the bar at Restaurant Eugene. They have a great bartender and interesting drinks. The food is outstanding as well.

Personally, my favorite is Bacchanalia, but it will push the limits on your $90 budget. The four-course tasting, plus a couple cocktails will get you to about $120 pp, inclusive of tax and tip. Price-wise, you won't fare a whole lot better at Eugene. So if the budget is a strict max at $90, you'd be happy at Aria. (Note: all 3 of these are "fine dining", dressy casual places. if you're looking for good food in a more casual environment, I would probably choose Empire State South).

Your cab to Aria will not be cheap...and Aria is not close (walking) to a MARTA (subway) station.

Empire State South is pretty much on the train line. That would be easy.
