Has anyone been to Parker's on Ponce? How's the atmosphere, the website has photos of the exterior but I haven't been able to find one of the interior. I'm thinking about going here for a special occasion. How's the steak?

I've heard good things about Parker's, though I haven't been there myself. If you're looking at places around Decatur, I'd also suggest Leon's Full Service or (maybe) the Iberian Pig.

I have been for Brunch, it was very good. They have a bloody mary bar, it was excellent! It is a clean, comfortable, casual, good feeling place. I liked it a lot!
I have also been to Leon's Full Service, while it was very good also, it's a totally different atmosphere, smaller, louder. The food was great.
Iberian Pig is another consideration, we sat upstairs, so it was quieter than downstairs. the food was very good, waitstaff excellent. Just a different feel .
I think for a special occasion, in Decatur, I would go to Parker's on Ponce or Iberian Pig.
      Have fun!

I've been several times for dinner. Atmosphere is great--nice two-sided fireplace, quiet dining room, good service. Often a pianist in the bar area. It's not a high-end steak place like Rathbuns or Bones, of course. More like a neighborhood joint, with lower prices. The apps and salads are particularly good. So I would say it's not a special occasion place, but still good. They often have coupons via Savvy Shopper, Scoutmob, etc. too. I also like Iberian Pig but it's pork vs steak and also loud--just a different experience.

Haven't been to Parker's, but I just ate at Cakes and Ale for the first time this week. I had the arrancini appetizer (a cone full of tiny, cheesy, orbs with a touch of citrus and pollen, and delicious), their take on the caesar salad, and the tri-tip. The tri-tip came with a horseradish cream, some roasted broccoli and fingerling potatoes and some tender lettuce. It was perfectly cooked (medium rare) and simply seasoned. After, we split an order of phatty cakes, gingerbread that night. I don't even like gingerbread, but the mascarpone icing made me forget that I do. I highly recommend the place. Can't wait for their adjoining bakery to open in the spring.
