CNY in HK - Yu Sheng/Yee Sang

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knew where I might be able to find a good yu sheng in HK at Chinese New Year?

  1. Hi, if you're looking for the ones commonly found in Singapore over CNY, I don't think it's available here (and even if you could find one, it probably wouldn't be that great)......come to think of it, it's not even that good in Singapore unless it's home made! i know people do it for the occasion but it's quite lame having the traditional "white" fish replaced by salmon in a lot of restaurants these days.....

Oh boo... when i was growing up it used to be so much fun. Not often you get an excuse to play with food and those rice cracker things make for good texture...

I don't know why the white fish was replaced ... I wonder if its for the same reason that its getting harder to find raw fish porridge (think it was the same fish but I'm casting back to my 6 year old palate).
