Serenity Cafe in Tom's River

What are the best menu items of the Serenity Cafe. Would this be appropriate for a gourmet dinner or do you know abetter one in the area?

According to the web-site, The Serenity Cafe is helmed by Chef Greg Manning. Chef Manning is of the past Jeffrey's (of Toms River), past Olde Corner Deli (of Island Heights), and the past Downtown Dinner Club (of Toms River).

I'd heard very good things about Jeffrey's and Olde Corner Deli, but never had the opportunity to try them. I did try the DDC a few times, but wasn't so impressed.

Here's a link to the restaurant. It's a BYOB restaurant, and it is excellent, excellent, excellent. He changes his menu every 2-3 weeks, although most of the apps remain the same. It's reasonably priced, and the food is gourmet like and the presentation is mouth watering. Make a reservation, especially on weekends. It's closed on Sunday & Monday.

For what its worth we went there Memorial Day weekend with friends from Bricktown and we thought it was quite good.
Have not had time to give a report on what we had but wife and I plan to go back.

It wasn't in my top places to dine but the food, service and presentation were all very good. Want to visit a couple more times and explore the menu.

Also the address showed Serenity Cafe on Rt 37 East, that is wrong, it is on Rt 37 WEST.

tom246 - glad to see your comments here, as a voice of credible posting. I look forward to hearing more from you on Serenity Cafe.

(By the way, even though the restaurant is on the westbound traffic side of Rt 37, it is east of the E/W address dividing line for Rt 37, which is the intersection at Rt 166 / Main St / Lakewood Rd - it's the first intersection on Rt 37 on the east side of the Garden State Parkway overpass. So the address for Serenity Cafe is correctly referred to as "Rt 37 East.")

Nj, thanks for the explanation, makes sense now. We hope to get back there in the next several weeks and will be sure to report back.
Had not seen our friends for some time and our daughter was getting married 4 days later. Don't remember exactly what we had but it was good :)

Never heard of the place. Sorry. BTW, its Toms River not Tom's River. As far as good restaurant for a gourmet dinner, I would suggest you take a look at Bistro 44. Good Luck.
