Whidbey and surrounding for an 80th bday
Dad-in-lawy lives in Coupeville on Whidbey and he's celebrating his 80th birthday. Hubby and I will travel down, meet up with his brother and try to get dad to go somewhere nice for dinner - either on the island or a short ferry/drive so I'm thinking Oak Harbor, Langley, Mulkilteo, Anacortes, Port Townsend. I've driven, visited, lots of times, I just think we need something new. Help!

The Port Townsend ferry is very unreliable - wouldn't recommend it! You have 4 upscale options in Coupeville: Christophers, Oystercatcher, Main Street Grill and the newly reopened Captain Whidbey Inn. All are good. Or, you could venture north to Frazers in Oak Harbor or south to Gordons in Freeland. Both excellent, as well. If you want to take a drive, try Seeds in LaConner. Enjoy!

Perhaps the best bet for a 80th birthday celebration in PT is Silverwater, a little more spacious and comfortable than others, service is aimiable and the menu has plenty of choices.
