Pate's Farm in Ruskin has fresh killed Chickens this coming week
Pate's farm, famous for his Heritage Bourbon Red Turkeys, now has broilers available on a monthly basis. Ben will be dressing out the free range chix in the morning of 6 January and he will have them for sale late that afternoon. There are free range eggs also.
Will let you know how our purchase and eating the chix turns out. Ben says he is almost sold out of turkeys (Heritage and Broad breasted Whites) for NEXT Thanksgiving!

Went to Pate's farm yesterday and bought 7 fresh killed pastured Broilers, (chickens), and ordered a Bourbon Red Heritage Turkey for Thanksgiving 2011!! He is almost sold out of the Reds for 2011 Thanksgiving; Ben Pate still has availability of Broad Breasted White Turkeys.
When I said fresh killed Chickens; his family and a few workers were busy dressing more birds. He has free range eggs, his hens are outside all day.

All those years I lived there....all the years I kept wishing I could find a decent source for poultry and eggs...and never knew this was there....dammit, dammit, dammit.
(I even carpooled with a Pate when I was in college....)
