Need suggestion for 21st Birthday (Steak/Beef/Chicken) - SFV
I'm turning 21 next week and want to try a fun place in the Valley serving really delicious meat (and alcohol.... beer preferred). Got a group of about 15-20 people... guessing about $20-25/pp without drinks.
Not really in the mood for Asian style... I prefer succulent, tasty meat.
- $20-25/pp
- Meat!
- Delicious food
- Good for groups
- Alcohol
- SFV (but I'd be willing to head to the city also!)
Thanks!

Its right on the edge of your price range, and I don't think its the same quality as say, Boneyard Bistro, but Sparks Woodfire Grill on Ventura is a pretty close fit. They have a lovely upstairs room that can easily accommodate your party (we did my daughter's graduation there), and a fine selection of beers. As some of their items, chicken, pasta or pizza are under your target price things would hopefully average out for the steaks which are over. Happy birthday and good luck.

What about Hummus Bar and Grill or Itzik Hagadol? Hummus B&G doesn't serve alcohol, but call ahead and see if you can BYO. If so, you could easily fit in the $25 roof - their food is delish. Itzik Hagadol does serve beer, and is more expensive - pushing the OP's price point but won't be disappointed there either.

re: wildcat
Sorry wildcat - totally skipped the 21-thing - very significant day for you and Hummus B&G would not be appropriate for this coming of age celebration. I'm not overly familiar with the SFV, but my first compulsion was Boneyard Bistro that AAQjr already suggested. My only reservation is the price range, and I hate it when you're cautioned, "if you're careful in ordering...". It just puts the kibosh on this kind of meal. But it sure would be a great place to end up and sampling a pretty serious beer list. Whatever the case, have a great birthday - welcome to the big leagues!

For that price range you're going to need to go to an older established restaurant where they probably own their building/real estate; therefore, they don't have to pass any lease raises onto their customers. If your willing to go further east to Glendale, they Damon's would work with all the red meat options, except 2 prime rib choices (*), under $25:
(*) Monday nights, prime rib $5 less.

Korean BBQ - The price is right, the atmosphere is right, and they have the meat and beer; however, doesn't the OP's request of ... "Not really in the mood for Asian style... I prefer succulent, tasty meat" ... disqualify it ? I would say yes.
"Succulent Tasty Meat" sounds to me like a good steak, and the "The South Seas or Polynesian décor theme" of Damon's would be a good fun atmosphere for a 21st Birthday Party. And, if you put up a $100 deposit, good towards the cost of your meal, you can reserve their private room - "The Tiki Lounge".

The Asian-style would be a disqualifier, but tasty and succulent are definitely markers of good Korean BBQ.
