El Nuevo Rodeo
I have been there a few times. The first time, I don't remember what I ate. The second time I had the ceviche and I am still thinking about it. I thought it was quite yummy. The guac is a large serving for the price and made at the table if I remember correctly.
My dining companions were not as enthused with their choices--traditional minnesota mex-- and service was not great, even though the place was quiet on an early Friday night. (Forgot a drink, never came back and one person's dinner was a full 10 minutes later than everyone elses.) I have never seen it packed. The ambiance reminds me of the old Taco Morales on 26th. (was that it's name?) or Salsa ala Salsa in Midtown Global market. Simple, hard back chairs a few Mexican artifacts tossed around. My guess is it gets louder and more interesting later in the night as it has a pretty big bar and the nightclub upstairs is always packed.
I live in the neighborhood and would like it to survive. I got a living social coupon to use by mid February, so I will be back soon.
