good Hornets grub
In my mental rolodex for where to watch tonite's Hornets-Lakers game, I can't come up with an Uptown spot that will have TVs, good drinks/beers, AND food that's any better than typical bar fare. Nothing wrong with that in an of itself, but a spot that has more Herbsaint-y small plate offerings would be better. Help!

Where did you end up? I racked my brain and couldn't think of anyplace that met your criteria.

re: uptownlibrarian
Since we were more interested in food than the game, esp. since I sensed we'd lose big, we went to Mayas on Magazine Street. My first time there. Good, interesting mojito (with fresh pear slices and fresh ginger), excellent guacamole, a beautiful vegetarian tamale (included potato, raisins, mushrooms) and succulent roasted pork with black beans and rice. Certainly worth a repeat visit. Oh, and since we lost by about 20 points, I think my instinct won out! Happy New Year, fellows Chowhounders!

I don't think you will find Herbsaint's small plates but Cooter B's and Ye Old College Inn will serve you cold drinks and good bar food while you watch the game. Cooter's has good oysters too.
