NYE Late Dinner with Kids?

We were originally going to have some friends over for NYE but plans fell through. Now I'm scrambling to find something for us to do with the kids (7 and 5). Any suggestions for a later dinner with some sort of NYE fun for them? I tried looking online but only found parties and clubs for the adult set. Where are the people with kids going on Friday night (and don't say Disneyland! LOL)

ETA: We are in the North SFV, and are willing to drive upto 15-20 miles.

  1. You give zero information about what location(s) might be good for you. That said you might check out City Walk at Universal City http://citywalkhollywood.com/calendar... and you could eat there (not my cup of tea but the location would be good if you are already there) or my choice would be to go back down onto Ventura Blvd. and eat at Carney's Train near Coldwater Blvd.

Citywalk on NYE is going to be crazy busy as they are holding a free NYE party. I'm trying to avoid the massive theme park like crowds. Thanks though!

Maybe someplace like Fogo de Chao would be fun? Not sure of their NY's eve plans but might be worth calling to see: http://www.fogodechao.com/

    2. As cheesy as it sounds Medieval Times has 3 dinner shows NYE, 5pm 7:15 and at the 9:30 show they are having fireworks. My kids loved it at that age.
