brunch/lunch near canon theatre

We are attending a matinee of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum on Sun Jan 2. Are there any decent places to have brunch/lunch nearby? I was thinking of the Senator. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I'll second the Queen and Beaver recommendation. Original brunch menu, great service, and it's about 5-7 mins walking distance from the Canon.

Thanks to everyone for the great suggestions. Unfortunately we were running late so we ended up at the Senator. I enjoyed the huevos rancheros and mr leny liked his melted ham & cheese sandwich very much. Prices are a bit high but the servings were quite generous and the service was great. The bonus was the decor - I am a sucker for wood booths. Booths of any kind really. I find them really cozy and romantic.

You'll spend the same amount of $$ at Queen & Beaver and have a much nicer meal.

I like FOTES. I've always had what I consider good value for money food. Nothing special but better than many places of the space price point. I've been probably a dozen times over the years.

Hey, some people like being raced through not very good Eggs Benedict while crammed into a corner.

I've never had that experience. Never rushed, never sat in a cramped corner. Food is ok but nothing in that hood is better than ok imo.

I'm a fan of the Queen and Beaver and you'll see I've recommended then a lot in the past but I think FOTES is a good value for money. Unlike places such as Fran's, Bloor Street Diner, etc.

Sorry, just me again...I haven't been there myself yet, but If you don't mind about a 15 minute walk, I hear that Fire on the East Side is really good!!

I've been to FOTES for brunch. I'd never go back. Crowded, rushed service, ordinary food.

And come to think of it, I think that Harlem serves brunch and it is in walking distance from the Canon

The only place that i know close to the Canon is the Senator, but their food is sub-par
