Linden Hills Co-op New Location – Thumbs Up!
Honestly I actually hated it when they first re-opened. Even with a real cheese counter, I just felt so let down. I merely loathed it all through October. When I shopped for Thanksgiving I realized I could appreciate things like vastly expanded refrigeration and freezer sections. Today I noticed I am shopping there all the time and I love it.
I don’t handle change well.
They have the grind your own peanut butter which, to be honest is still a thing I don’t understand. I guess what bummed me out on my first trip was the bulk section. Sure it’s much easier to use. I guess I thought they’d expand the offerings. So I still have to go to The Wedge for a couple things. But, that’s ok. Linden Hills Co-op is meant to be smaller and I think overall they did a good job on the design.
Today I perused the dessert case and holy crap they have stuff from Truffles and Tortes. Why did I look? Beautiful chocolate singing to me. I whooshed past and stopped in my tracks when I spied small containers of walnut pecan paté. Once I got home I had to try it out and it’s really good with some crusty bread. So’s the Farmdog Blue Cheese by PastureLand I picked up. Man is that stuff Blue! So, all of my no-prep New Years goodies have been picked out. Thanks to Linden Hills Co-op.

Mary, I know what you mean about not handling change well, I have hated pretty much every change the coops have undergone and then gradually shocked myself by adjusting and even liking them. I often feel they lose the 'hominess' (that word looks weird now, like 'homeys'...) that they had when they were smaller. The Wedge's new lighting system appalled me for some time , now I don't notice it.
so, grind-your-own peanut butter....wouldn't that be fresher tasting? that's why I think they have it.
