First Visit to Austin - breakfast and lunch

Hi, we are coming to Austin (from Minneapolis) Jan 14-17. We are staying on the UT campus (at the AT&T executive center) and are looking for a couple of breakfast and lunch spots. Based on ideas from this board, we have a dinner reservation at Parkside and a brunch reservation at Lambert's. I think on Saturday we will be heading for Lockhart for barbeque. Any cuisine works as does price. Thanks for any help!

Arturo's is a a little place right around the corner from where you will be staying, on West 17th.
It used to have good breakfasts. Haven't been in years. Any hounds been here lately?

Austin is famous for its breakfast taco joints. There was an article about them in the NY Times earlier this year. Here is a link:

I was in Austin briefly several weeks ago and had a breakfast taco at the Torchy's taco shop on the south side of Austin. I would certainly go back for more.

the carillon is supposed to be one of austin's best kept secrets.
they have an interesting happy hour menu, if you want to try it out before committing to a pricier dinner:

Caffe Medici for latte over in that area is not to be missed if you are into coffee.
