Old Cuba Libre in Chelsea- any replacements?

Hey all, years ago I used to go to this place called Cuba Libre in Chelsea- really solid Cuban food with these little cheesy/sweet bread balls they'd bring out in wooden boxes that were amazing.

They closed, but I noticed there are several other cuban restaurants nearby. Anyone know if any of these are the same place rebranded? Or at least have those bread balls?

Thanks!!

honestly, i never found Cuba Libre to be that good. my favorite Cuban in Manhattan is Havana Alma de Cuba. haven't been in a while, but the food is great.

i don't recall the sweet cheesy bread at Cuba Libre, but Plataforma serves something similar, not that I'm recommending you go there. they could be bunuelos (http://southamericanfood.about.com/od...), which are different everywhere.
