Lunch on Newbury St?

APBAPB Dec 28, 2010 09:38 AM

I'm going to meet some friends there tomorrow. What's really tasty and interesting down there, if anything. Unfortunately, L'Espalier and the like is over the budget so that, and its ilk, are out.

you might be happier in chinatown or the south end? I do not think that there are many good restaurants located on Newbury Street. Perhaps the Trident bookstore if you have to be on Newbury Street.

Walk over a few blocks and have a decent affordable lunch at Brasserie Jo

Bottega Fiorentina is PERFECT for lunch. It's got all kinds of sandwiches and lunch-sized portions of Pasta for a reasonable price. It's my favorite spot on Newbury.

I would try the Parish Cafe on Boylston St.
Something for everyone, and the list of chefs involved in the menu makes for a great conversation.

I like Piattini on Newbury. Affordable, cute atmosphere and straighforward fresh salads and sandwiches at lunch. They also have pasta at lunch but I haven't had it. The bread and olive oil that you get when you order is to die for. Good luck!
