Need breakfast spot during layover in MIA

I'm flying from SFO to MIA and have a 5 hour layover in MIA before continuing on to Bogota. I arrive early (5am) and am wondering if any one has thoughts about where I could grab breakfast near the beach and whether it's feasible to leave the airport, have breakfast and return with enough time to catch my flight without breaking the bank on taxi fares. Any thoughts? Much appreciated!

I don't know many notable breakfast places that are open at 5 AM close to the airport. I would recommend Versailles Bakery but they open at 8 AM. However, the new Ice Box Cafe inside the airport (American Airlines' North Terminal) is open at 5 AM and they have a breakfast menu.

By all means, try IceBox first, It's in terminal D, near the lower numbered gates (around D7 or so).

Failing that, you could check out a fun place called "Palacio de los Jugos" on 5721 W Flagler Street. It's a classic place. Kind of a mix of smoothies and fried Latin food, but the real thing!
