New Restaurants in the East Village

Restaurants seem to be popping up out of nowhere nowadays, so I have a question about 4 new(ish) openings. Has anyone been to Octavia's Porch, Goat Town, Edi & The Wolf or Peels? I want to go to all 4 of these, but I'd like to hear some opinions if possible. Thanks!

I tried to get a table at Edi & the Wolf, but they were fully booked last night. Ended up at Goat Town & had the $75 3 course (plus amuse bouche) New Years Eve menu. It was really damn good. I'm going to have to go back & try some of the dishes from the regular menu though. I'm kinda liking that place right now.

      What did you have?

A lobster deviled egg amuse bouche, Oysters with caviar, grilled sturgeon with root vegetables & a NY-style cheesecake (probably the best I've ever had, sorry Mom!).

They don't have a full liquor license, but there are a bunch of beers & an interesting take on a Dark & Stormy called the Stout & Stormy; Stout with house made Ginger beer.

I've been to Peel's twice for brunch and really like the pancakes and the build a biscuit...hoping to try it for dinner one of these days.
Octavia's Porch has a fun and interesting menu. I liked some of the new takes on traditional dishes (e.g., a sort of rustic chopped liver with red grapes; unbelievable challah stuffing) and some of the non traditional items ( a really tasty quinoa salad, mushroom ceviche). Plus some killer cocktails (LES/pickle martini) and interesting beers.

Hey buddy, I live here on TSQP. I went to Peels and it was fine, but I wasn't blown away. Thought it was ok to good.

Always excited to hear about new eats in the 'hood. We are big Redhead, Perbacco, Back Forty, Hearth (chef's counter), Artichoke, and Gnocco fans.

I can never get enough Back Forty in my life, I absolutely love that place. I'm eager to try out the 4 restaurants in my original post though, there seems to be a lot of good stuff happening in the East Village.

Most likely Edi & the Wolf as it's the closest to my house & I've been there for a drink, but not food yet. I've been hearing good things about Goat Town, but a friend of mine mentioned that the food wasn't consistent. He got the same appetizers 7 days apart & they were very different. Do you think they're still tinkering with the menu?
