I did allnighter (flight was scheduled for 7pm but didn't take off till 7am) by EL AL at JFK during a snowstorm in 2006, I much rather have sent home and told to come back the next morning.

it was not an enjoyable experience

But hopw far from home where you? Back when i lived in NJ it was 2 HOURS from my house to JFK.. That ios pretty far to go home and come back the next morning. I really think that soem people forget that there is life outside of the NYC area.

I live in Far Rockaway, a 10-15 minute drive (even with the snow) but I if were from NJ even a airport hotel would have been better
