Need suggestions for vegetarian tasting menu

zack Dec 27, 2010 05:54 PM

I'm in need of restaurant recommendations for vegetarian tasting menus. So far I've found (around my price range) Hatfields, Bistro LQ, (above) Melisse, Patina. Any others that I should take into consideration?

Joe's on Abbot Kinney will do it on request, and they supposedly do a wonderful job.

Il Grano has one, as does Inn of the Seventh Ray. and Michael Mina apparently has a pretty terrific tasting menu at XIV.

if you search the board you should find feedback about all of them.

i think you can't go wrong with any you've listed. also agree with ghg's suggestions of XIV, Il Grano and Joe's.

it may sound odd, but Tagine does a great moroccan veggie tasting menu.

capo i think does one for under 100 bucks.

and i know they used to, but not sure if they do still, but Vincenti in Brentwood would be worth a call as well.

      have fun!

If you're not offended by the recent foie gras controversy, I think Providence does a fantastic job of vegetarian and vegan stuff. I have done the 5 course there twice (it was completely vegan both times, not just vegetarian). Some photos from a recent trip:

Sona did an incredibly fantastic job, but they haven't re-opened AFAIK.

Throw Craft, WP24 and Spago into the mix for consideration.

Michael Cimarusti did a pretty amazing veggie tasting menu for a member of our party last time at Providence. It was very impressive. We just called ahead of time to let them know that we would have a veggie with us and they took care of it.
