A Mauritanian taxi-driver told me of a restaurant serving his food, apparently on Seventh Avenue about 130th Street. Am longing to go there, but forget the name he gave. Any ideas? Any reviews?
The only West African restaurant along this stretch of Adam Clayton Powell is Keur Sokhna, but I'd peg its chow as Senegalese:
Just to the north is Yatenga, which supplanted the late La Marmite. Though it's named for a province of Burkina Faso, the menu looks to be straightforward French bistro, and the clientele, principally young European tourists.
