Chow-worthy spots near the Canada Line (Richmond)?

I was happily pottering around the food courts of the Aberdeen, President's Plaza and Yaohan malls yesterday when it occurred to me that I am probably not the only person who: a) doesn't live in Richmond; b) doesn't much like driving; and c) really REALLY doesn't like driving in Richmond. So, I thought I'd have a shot at starting a list of chow-worthy places close to the Canada line stations (by which I mean within a couple of blocks, although I'd be willing to consider places a little farther out if particularly chow-worthy...). Here's what I've come up with so far.

Bridgeport Station

Aberdeen Station
-- Aberdeen Mall (Fisherman's Terrace, Chef Hung, Wo Fung, ...)
-- President's Plaza (O'Tray, dumpling guy in the corner )
-- Yaohan Centre (not really sure what's good in the food court, but the Osaka Mkt is fun)

Lansdowne Station
-- ?

Brighouse Station
-- S&W Pepper House

As I am very much of a Richmond newbie, any additions would be much appreciated. Also feel free to add spots near the skytrain or near the Canada line in Vancouver ...

This might sound like a dumb question. But since all the suggestions so far are of Asian cuisine, are there any worthwhile non-Asian places in Richmond close to the Canada Line ?

There are a couple of chain restaurants along the Lansdowne station on number 3 road. Sammy J Pepper and Cactus Club and of course White Spot. But nothing really worthwhile. If you want better Western cuisine might as well take the Canada line to Yaletown Station.

If I can add Nan Chuu (izakaya, branch of downtown's Gyoza King). It's closest to Aberdeen Station, but it's about 500m from #3 Road, on Alexandra Road, so it's a bit of a hoof to get there.

Peaceful Restaurant is pretty good, on the north side of Broadway at Cambie in Vancouver

500m LR? That's half a kilometre! Oh well, will put on my hiking boots, grab my trekking poles and hoof it out there one of these days.

I'm sure it's on fmed's original list but don't forget S&W Pepper House, I walked there in only a few minutes from Brighouse skytrain station...

...good point about the calories LR, I'll keep repeating to myself until I'm convinced :-) ...

S&W Pepper House is definitely on my list -- although I hear the Burnaby location is better? Or is that just a matter of personal preference?

I'd say personal preference (hey, we're talking food, right?!). I happen to prefer the Rmd location, especially the peanut salad but also I just like the resto better (brighter, less likely to be smoky inside from food prep) but it's not like I've done an exhaustive comparo.

To add to the list which was predominantly Chinese eats, there are several noteworthy Filipino eateries along the Brighouse Station.

- Cucina Manila (Cook Road - Filipino Fastfood)

- Newtown Bakery (Cook Road -- Special siopao)

- Aling Mary (Park Road - Hot Pan de Sal)

- Kumare Cafe & Bakery (Soon to open on Park Road, - Filipino bakery and cafe/eatery).

Also, I'd like to add HK BBQ Master (at the superstore, I think Aberdeen is the closest station) to the list, as grayelf reminded me yesterday that it has the best BBQ pork (and roast pork too) around.

Great additions. The list isn't complete by all means. HKBBQM is a favourite for me. The Filipino spots are also really good additions.

Also to note that some of these places are closed or have declined in quality. Off the top of my head...Closed are:
-Szechwan Restaurant (Sichuan, Saba Rd) (Now "Northern Chinese Cuisine" serving Shandong and Dong Bei)
-Bonqula (Japanese fusion, Alexandra Rd)

I should add places like Kam Do (is the one on Three Rd open yet?), other HK Cafes and the Tawainese restaurants in an around the area. May do that when I have time.
