We are doing a weekend in central Florida over MLK weekend and will be in Mount Dora for one night...Looking for dinner recommendations for the best there is...We are both foodies and money is really not an object...Thanks from a Fort Lauderdale hound!

I've only visited Mount Dora twice, so maybe someone from the area can give you a better recommendation. I haven't found a true foodie destination type place, but I like the Goblin Market Restaurant. Fair warning, I've only ever eaten lunch there.

It's been a while since we were through there, but there are a couple of places that are worth looking into. There's a bakery called Sunshine Bakery , I think with good breads. The Windsor Tea Room is one of those "old lady" English Tea rooms with good scones and such. The Frog and Monkey Pub has good sandwiches and Guiness on tap. The Holiday House, which is a buffet type place, was very popular. I don't know if its still around in Mt Dora but the one in Deland had a great coconut cake a couple of years back. You should be able to walk up and downt he coupel of main streets/blocks of downtown and find a spot or two that look interesting.
