Stowe Restaurant Recommendations

Hi,
We'll be in Stowe this weekend with good friends (we are 2 couples in their mid forties). Looking for dinner recommendations for Saturday night. Has anyone been to Lagniappe (it's a restaurant in the Ten Acres Lodge)? It was rated number 1 for restaurants on Tripadvisor so I was curious to hear a review. Food is cajun/creole. Also, would love any recommendations for restaurants that are nice (ie., good/great food, nice atmosphere but are not off the charts expensive). Looking for most entrees in the 20s price range not the 30s. Thanks for any suggestions/help you can offer!!

Trattoria La Festa is fantastic if your looking for some italian food. Owned and operated by two Italian brothers. One of the best wine selections in all of Vermont. It is just after the Top Notch Resort drive on the mountain road. A must try!

Oh yeah, and Michael's on the Hill, is that still a good place?

Michael's is still excellent. I have been meaning to try Trattoria La Festa. May have to wait until after ski season but I have heard some good things and they have been at it for years which in Stowe is no small accomplishment !!!!

I've never eaten at Lagniappe, nor have I heard anyone discuss it here in Chowhound. I don't think I even knew it existed. So unfortunately I can't comment on its quality. I hope if you go you'll put up a review of your experiences there.

The question of recommendations in the area has recently been partly answered here:

ETA: Also, even at the most high end places in the area, you're going to be paying mostly in the 20s, not the 30s, for entrees.

Santos Cucina- very interesting spot with Latin influenced food and a high energy atmosphere
        Dutch Pancake- great breakfast post
Trapp Lodge- great place for a beer (they make their own and it is very good)
