Suggestions for a Pre-Theater dinner on a budget

I am going with my family of 6 (two adults, and kids ages 14-21) to see a show at St. James Theater next Sunday evening. Show starts at 7:30pm, so we are looking for somewhere affordable (but unique and delicious) to grab dinner beforehand. Don't mind a little bit of a walk, but preferably in the Theater district/Times Square area. Always up for a good hole-in-the-wall type place.

This place is yummy. A notch up from hole in the wall...but small enough, that I'd call for a reservation, cause most of their (few) tables are 2 and 4 tops. Kabobs, of course, but lots of yummy vegetarian choices, too.

And just to clarify, when I say budget I mean total check of under $150. So around $20-25 per person max. Preferably either family-style entrées we could share, or a place with most entrées under the $17 mark.

How big is your budget for food per person, before tax, tip, drinks (for those of age)? $15 per person? $20 per person? Any cuisines you particularly like? Or wish to avoid? Vegetarians? Allergies? Any picky eaters?

I see that the St. James Theater is on 8th and 44th, is this correct? If so, you're within walking distance of some of the Hell's Kitchen ethnic spots on 9th.

$15-20 per person would be great, preferably closer to $15 before tip, tax, and drinks. We're pretty adventurous with types of cuisine, so I wouldn't rule any out. Ethnic restaurants are great, especially non-Chinese or Japanese (we get a lot of those places down here in Philly so wouldn't mind doing something different for a change). The only thing I would avoid would be straight up seafood restaurants, since 3 of the 4 kids are not big on fish. No vegetarians, no allergies, and besides the affliction to seafood, no terribly picky eaters.

And yes, that location is correct for the theater.

Perhaps Thai? Have been hearing great things about Pure Thai Shophouse. Wondee Siam and Pam's Real Thai are also nearby.
