N Calif seafood---like old Spenger's

Does anyone know of an establishment that has the ambiance, service and food of the old Spengers in Berkeley? Our family had our fav dishes (prawns & sherry wine, prawn curry, chowder, oysters) and we always had a swell time through the years. Current owners don't have it.

At Fisherman's Wharf, Fisherman's Grotto #9 has been in business 75 years. Haven't been there recently, but decades ago when my family came down from Washington State they always looked forward to a big splurge at the place. I would imagine the same vibe still prevails.

You can still get all the old favorites -- cioppino, crab louis, calamari steak, etc.

You may try The Dead Fish in Crocket to get the vibe you are looking for. The other choice may be the old established places at Fishermans Wharf.
