I'm visiting Charm City after many years away, and would like to find the best burger in town this coming week. My brother-in-law says Alonso's, but I'm skeptical. Thoughts? (And Merry Christmas!

I say The Dizz used to be Dizzy Izzies, very good food. I havent had a bad meal yet from them. Good hunting tell me what you find is the best.

I don't know about the resturaunt proper, but I've had a good burger from the Kooper's truck. Brewer's Art also puts out a nice burger. I've haven't tried it (yet), but the smoke burger from Alewife looks (and smells) really good.

I like the Black & Bleu made from Black Angus beef at Abbey Burger Bistro. Excellent beer selection there too.

Hamilton Tavern on Harford Road, but you have to get it with bacon (and an egg, if that's your thing).

Alonso's is a big, dried out and overcooked burger.

Agree that McCabe's is a seriously good burger. Gertrude's also uses Springfield Farm beef and makes a great burger (nice brioche bun). Between the two, McCabe's edges out on juicy/greasy napkin factor and the availability of great beer on tap.

I'd say without question McCabe's on Falls Road in Hampden. They source their beef from Springfield Farms, and I find their beef is like crack -- it's just addictive.
