Rehearsal Dinner somewhere in La Jolla / Del Mar or North County

Hi,

I'm trying to find a good spot for ~75 people somewhere in La Jolla / Del Mar or North County up to maybe Encinatas.

Would ideally include some view of the ocean or at least outdoor feel and a very relaxed, non-formal vibe (we were looking at George's and Marine Room, but both feel kind of over the top the day before the wedding.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Marc

You could rent the Powerhouse community center at the beach in Del Mar and have your dinner catered. Another option is to do something casual at Kitchen 1540 outside by the pool, but that's also probably over the top. Or check out the new place in the Del Mar plaza, Flavor.

What's your price point per person?
Anything in the coastal zone from LJ to Encinitas is going to be $$.

Kitchen 1540 at the L'Auberge Del Mar is lovely.
The Lodge at Torrey Pines in LJ.
      Estancia resort in LJ.
Hotel La Jolla at the top floor overlooking the Shores..Clay's
Crab Catcher in LJ has private rooms with underground parking.
      Piatti's patio in LJ Shores
The Shores in LJ..casual and oceanfront..
      Brigantine Del Mar..happy hour
Self Realization Temple at Swami's and then Las Olas in Cardiff..

      Congrat's and report back!

I hosted many client seminars at L'Auberge Del Mar. Glad to hear it's still lovely (and delicious?). For an informal, relaxed feel dine on the patio with ocean views . . .

Two recommendations: Blanca and Brigantine Del Mar

        1. My husband and I just had dinner at Blanca in Solana Beach and found the food to be very creative and tasty. Very relaxing vibe and very low key. Unfortunately, there is no ocean view but they have plenty of parking. The chef's tasting was a bargain at $75 per person.

        2. Brigantine Del Mar. Some partial ocean view and reasonably priced seafood. Food is okay, valet only parking. It also has an outdoor area....but it might be pretty cold.

If your meal is at night keep in mind that you won't be able to see the ocean so the view will likely be underwhelming….unless your meal is during the summer days.

        Congrats and good luck!

I heard from a reliable source the Rancho Valencia Resort property, under new ownership, is back to its former excellence, food/service-wise. I think it would be an idea place for a rehearsal dinner.
