Dining on the Riviera Nayarit (Sayulita and Pancho)

Short and sweet . . .

As good or better than always: Burrito Revolution, Sayulita Fish Taco (aka "Say Fish" or "SFT"), in Sayulita; La Ola Rica and Cafe del Mar in Pancho.

Significant drop-off in quality: Cafe Sayulita

New but (sadly) average: Fish Taco (on Ave. Revolución); Los Afortunados.

    San Pancho:
Maria's - Breakfast, lunch or dinner, main drag (Tercero Mundo)
Delfines - esp on pozole night
La Roca - next to Delfines on T. Mundo (sometimes set up in the small park on T. Mundo as well)
Eva's Tacos - up from Calle Egipto

I'll second the Tacon de Marlin rec. Amazing and not to be missed. I do the shrimp and marlin combo.

    Buen provecho!

On a side street in the town of San Pancho - just 5 minutes from Sayulita - is the sweet spot called Bistro Organico. Only local seafood and quality vegetarian dishes ,utilizing local and organic ingredients. The chefs of this small, inside/outside patio resturant create the most beautiful dishes - house baked breads and desserts are concocted daily. The restaurant has a unique tequila collection , including its own house (organic) tequila. Unique, exquisite and reasonably priced (ranging from $6 to $18usd on the dinner menu!). Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner - dont come on Mondays when they rest. Where else can you find delicous Spelt Pancakes (try the coconut or the mango !) or sopes of hibiscus flowers and what many have named ' the best tortilla soup in mexico'. Elegant dishes include a beautifully prepared stuffed pepper with smoked marlin (topped with fresh alfafa sprouts - germinated in their own kitchen) or the tequila flamed prawns in chipotle sauce with grilled locally grown veggies and wholegrain rice. And, wait...the home made dessert choices are not to be missed -- fresh berry pies or coffee mouse topped with cream and shaved mexican chocolate! Check this place - the Hotel (small boutique style) and the Bistro will make your trip north of PV to San Pancho more than just worthwhile. A definitely special and memorable experience. Have fun----!

In San Pancho I would recommend Maria's new place as well as Los Delifines and La Roca all on Tercero Mundo.

And of course I have to mention Tacon de Marlin directly across the pedestrian bridge at the PV airport. Still some of the best food in town - go for the marlin / shrimp combo!
