Pork belly... Restaurant which has it on the menu?

  • a

Im looking for a restaurant which has pork belly right now.
Blackbird was rumored to have it, but it wasnt exactly what I was looking for. Suggestions? I checked some local menus, but I assume it may be easier just to ask :)

  1. I like the pork belly BLT at Bradstreet. Really nice and simple, but works wonderfully with a bourbon cocktail.

Also, one of my visits to Haute Dish, I had a picnic salad that had another really well done bell portion with a beautiful oyster vinaigrette and cauliflower 3 ways. I have since wondered who cooked it there, it was such a delicate, not really landon's style. I would doubt it is still available, but who knows.

Blackbird has sandwhich style preparation involving tons of cheese. And of course there is the BLT style, but im looking for a more elegant prep.

    2. I had an awesome version with apples and mustard sauce at the Strip Club a month or so ago. Tender on the inside, crispy on the outside with a really awesome sauce.

We also had a truly amazing pork belly dish at Piccolo several months ago, but I think their menu has changed since then so I do not know if there current menu has pork belly (but based on the other one, I am sure that if it is on the menu, it would be great).

Yes! We had this too. My husband says it is the best thing he has ever eaten at a restaurant. I couldn't think of a topper, honestly. It was so delicious.

Went to The Strip Club about a month ago and my friend got the Pork Belly... it was very good.

I had a very, very nice Cassoulet for lunch last week at W. A. Frost. $14.00. Crispy duck confit, maple sausage and pork belly confit, all nice portions, surrounded with a luscious garlicky white bean ragout.

          2. It might not be what you're seeking but they have pork belly at Teahouse II in St. Paul. It's sliced very thin and done with leeks in a stir fry. I think it's delicious. We ate there last night and had very solid service and food. 3 beers, 3 orders of mini-juicy buns, the amazing cucumbers, 3 entrees and a soup and it was $100 with tip for 5 of us.

            1. When Scott at Corner Table has a fresh hog he usually has some form of pork belly on his menu (last time I had pork belly fried rice- oh my god it was good). It's worth a call to find out what their menu is for the week.

              1. Szechuan Spice in Uptown has a delicious dish with pork belly, it's called the "stew pork with crispy rice" basically pieces of pork belly in a rich brown sauce (slight spice) sauteed bok choy or similar cabbage and crispy rice. It is a must have for us when we go there.

Little Szechuan (and, I believe, Tea House) have twice-cooked pork - which should be right up your alley. It's a classic Szechuan dish.

                2. I was at moto-i not too long ago and had the pork belly bun (check with the server - the current menu says Hoisin pork) and the pork belly lettuce wraps. Both were delicious. www.moto-i.com.

                  1. In Season has an AWESOME pork belly dish right now. Better than any I've had in recent history. "Crispy Oysters & Glazed Pork Belly with Sweet & Sour Cabbage and Mustard" I'm not a big oyster fan, raw or otherwise, but this really knocked it out of the park.

                    1. The Lyndale Taphouse in uptown has a pork belly appetizer that is VERY good. Large portion and probably much more affordable than all the other places suggested.

                      1. Once again, I really love On's on University and Snelling. They have a fantastic crispy pork and chinese broccoli with lovely slices of pork belly glistening on the plate. A fantastic meal. And at 6.99, a bargain to boot.
