Lantern Restaurant just shared their New Year's Eve menu with their listserv...spectacular, as always. Three course fixed price menu , $75 per person, not incl tax, tip, or booze.

fresh black truffle

Lantern sashimi- Nassawadox oysters with NC trout roe and yuzu, local grass fed beef filet with sea urchin and cured speckled trout tartare with fresh wasabi

Deviled blue crabcakes with spicy Japanese mustard and pickled mustard seed

Smoked Eco Farm pork belly with daikon noodles, pork dashi and 7-spice

Cured Hudson Valley foie gras with hot buttered toast, local winter lettuces, L'Hoste kumquats and honey-fried walnuts

Moon-viewing noodles- homemade Anson Mills soba noodles with black trumpet and chanterelle mushrooms, local carrots, red spinach and a poached hen's egg

Japanese steakhouse-style seared rare Niman Ranch beef with crispy spinach, ponzu sauce, warm green tea sushi rice and sea salt

Steamed Arctic char with house-pickled ginger, lemongrass, red onion, fresh lime leaf, spicy cucumber-mint salad, and coconut jasmine rice

Wok-seared Maine lobster, Nantucket bay scallops and wild shrimp in XO sauce with new onions, watercress and steamed jasmine rice
