Beer Gift for Beer Lover

Any suggestions for where in Dallas to buy a nice sixer for a beer lover? Any style will do. Price not an object (although I just learned there are some very expensive beers out there), maybe something brewed in Texas. Maybe something hard to find.

  1. If you're serious about price not being an object, buy your friend a bottle each of Brewdog's Tactical Nuclear Penguin and Sink the Bismarck.

But, if I were looking for a gift, I would prioritize finding the Sam Adams/Weihenstephaner Infinium, especially since who knows if they will make another batch. Definitely a one of a kind beer. Another friend asked me to look around the other day and found that Central Market and Whole Foods in Plano still have it in stock.

Otherwise... here's a lineup of holiday beers with some rarities mentioned.

The Rahr Barrel Aged Winter Warmer is still available but running out of stock fast. This is unquestionably the best beer Rahr makes and the demand just keeps on growing.

Before you spend a lot of time/gas, just take a few minutes to call a couple stores. My go-to's in Carrollton are Sam's Beer/Wine (ask for Matt) and Lone Star Beverage (ask for Rick), and I also like shopping at the Majestic in Addison. Quite nice having top notch beer stores all within 15 minutes away from home.

If the friend is a hophead, Stone's Lukcy Basartd was just released and there's limited quantities of it. You also can't go wrong with giving the Duvel 4 pack with the glass. Hope that gives you some good ideas, happy hunting.

Thanks for the recs! Picked up an Infinium and a six of winter warmer at central market. Exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully I won't drInk it before I gift it. Cheers!

I should have clarified the barrel aged winter warmer comes in a single bomber. That regular winter warmer is not a bad beer either, but the barrel aged one is on another level.

I finally had the barrel aged winter warmer, and you're certainly correct, it's excellent, almost like a different beer altogether.

Also got to share the Infinium, it was great as well.

          Thanks again for the recs.
