Lively lunch place today (12/23) in not-downtown SF?

I'm meeting a living-out-of-the-U.S. friend today for a late lunch (1:30) in the city and want a place (not downtown) that has a good chance of being lively and celebratory in the holiday spirit even though it's still a "workday" and not yet Christmas Eve day. Mission, Cow Hollow/Marina, or anyplace in between.

Zuni, A16, and Bar Bambino are open. Zuni's the most likely to be lively.

Bar Bambino never seems too lively during the day. Seems like it hasn't transformed that area like Michael Bauer thought it might.

Pizzeria Delfina or Starbelly could also be good bets.

There's also Greens, which is always nice during the day with its views.

Monk's Kettle is almost always lively

Thanks for both replies! We went to Zuni and had their great food at the bar (had a time limit and would have had to wait for a table) in what I call their classic/modern SF place. The place was buzzing, if not really celebratory, and was a great reminder for me how much I like the place.
