High End Scotch and Wine

Scagnetti Dec 23, 2010 04:57 AM

I need to buy a bottle of very expensive scotch and some good Bordeauxs to lay down. I'm thinking of Goody Goody's on Greenville and Siegel's on Routh. What other places will have what I'm looking for?

Check with the guys at Veritas for wine.

At Sigel's home office, talk to Randy McLaughlin at 214.350.1271, for either the whiskey or the wine. Or, for assistance with the Bordeaux, call The Rare Wine Co at 800.999.4342 and talk to either Mark or Barry or Gregg.

I got in contact with a co-worker of Randy McLaughlin at Siegel's and he directed me to their store in Addison and they had exactly what I was looking for.

        Thanks for the tip.

I'm curious. What did you buy? And, was it a gift or, for yourself?
          Merry Christmas to you.

            A bottle of Macallan 18 ($165) and a couple of 2000 Bordeauxs ($100 ea).

They were gifts for someone else who was very generous to me this year. He also has a refrigerated wine cabinet and enjoys good wine.

            Happy Holidays to you too!

Good choices. And, very generous of you.

I've found Goody's to be the cheapest on whiskey and other "hard spirits". They were $20.00 LESS than Sigel's on a bottle of Macallan 15 year old!
            Wine, not so much cheaper.

Goody Goody's is my go to place but last year they did not have a very wide selection of premium scotches which surprised me.

I like GG on Oaklawn. Good selection there. And the Eatzi Market down the street makes it easy to pick up chow for dinner to go with the wine.
