I'm loving Cognac Bistro in Brookline. It's maybe not super-romantic, but it's incredibly cozy, has great food and a very good bar, and fabulous dollar oysters which I hope they'll keep through New Years. I'd also consider La Morra in Brookline and Bondir in Cambridge.

Second La Morra. Maybe the new Jacky's place, might be a little casual.

What's romantic? Good food and fun atmosphere?
Can you get into Heaven and Hell Night at the East Coast Grill?
Quieter, good food, nice atmosphere: Bergamot, Hungry Mother?
