Brabo Tasting Room

Went to Brabo Tasting Room for the first time. I had been to the Butcher Block more than a year ago and wasn't impressed by the sandwiches. I had a sausage, onion and arugula tart flambee'. Really yummy. I will go back, given that it was an expensive lunch, but not too often.

  1. I really like the Roast Beef, Arugla, and Chimay Cheese sandwich at the Block - Nothing else there has ever impressed me. I haven't tried Brabo proper yet...The market has a few good things but it is hit-and miss - Delicious Veal Cheeks one day, and took home a beautiful-looking duck breast once that was tasteless...

    1. The red onion marmalade that comes as part of the napa-tizer dish was one of the food highlights for me for 2010. The market has excellent pate. And I mean EXCELLENT!

      1. Went there last night and had the mussels. Better than the ones at Brasserie Beck (Brabo is owned by Robert Wiedmaier), IMHO, and cheaper. The dessert (Chocolate Toffee Tort) was also very good.
