getting Prairie vodka?

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where I can buy a bottle of Prairie vodka? I've already tried Spec's and it was a no-go.

Thanks for that thinly veiled insult. And I am STILL not closer to finding an earnest answer to my earnest question.

Yeah, I didn't find the previous response very helpful either.

I called my little local purveyor of fine liquors, (Le Chateau) on Woodway. They carry my obscure cheap Scotch, (Jon Mark & Robbo's - The Rich and Spicy One), but they don't carry Prairie.

      I tried.

It was neither thinly veiled nor an insult. The simple fact is that with few exceptions vodka has become a joke. Pay premium prices for ethanol with water. Organic or not, these are not real vodkas just expensive versions of Everclear that people think it is smart to drink. I will grant you that Prairie Vodka is not completely tasteless - apparently you can taste the corn - and that is a big point in its favor.

Perhaps what I meant to say is that the response sounded belittling. And yes, I am looking for Prairie for a reason -- that reason being the subtle corn and grass flavor.

Sounds like we are in agreement Amy. IMHO the ONLY vodkas worth drinking are the ones with some flavor. If people want tasteless vodka they should buy the cheapest they can find.

I think Prairie is an organic vodka -- is that correct? I haven't seen it in the stores but I wonder if any of the restaurants around stock it (i.e. t'afia or another place that uses a lot of organic products). I googled and saw someone saying that Hotel Zaza serves cocktails with Prairie vodka. You might try calling there, t'afia, or someplace similar. That's the only thing I can think of!

They have it at the Spec's on Bay Area near El Camino in Clear Lake. I just saw it yesterday....first time I've ever noticed it. I almost bought a bottle. It's also on the Spec's web site.

Which Specs did you try? Specsonline.com shows that they carry it at the Smith Street location.

They did NOT have it at the Spec's at Westheimer and Kirkwood.

Hmm, I didn't see it on the Spec's website before! But yeah, the one at Westheimer and Kirkwood didn't have it, neither did the one on Hwy 6 near Clay, or the one on I-10 and Bunker Hill, haha! I'll try those other locations, though!
