Looking for lunch and afternoon tea spots

Hi! I'm looking for two places as part of a Saturday-date-in-the-city.

First a lunch space either near Lincoln Square or Upper West side- something light and casual (we'll be coming from ice skating at Wollman)

And then an afternoon coffee/people watching/dessert space for a post-MOMA treat?

Bouchon in Time Warner at Columbus Circle is good for tea/coffee and people watching indoors, and not far from MOMA.

For lunch on UWS post-Wollman, consider Shake-Shack for good burgers (super casual).

Bar Boulud is definitely a great choice! For Tea, the Peninsula Hotel usually has a nice afternoon tea with sandwiches and petit fores also.

Thanks for the coaching! I'm new to Chowhound and not a NYC native, so putting this date weekend together is quite an experience!

I think Salumeria Rosi is a great place in the Lincoln Square/UWS area. Its Italian food, mostly small plates, which are always fun to share and taste many different things. They have a wonderful selection of fine Italian meats and cheese, and good wine. It should fit your price range depending on how many plates you get.

There is also Bar Boulud. I enjoyed the food there before the Opera and the service was nice. Again it should fit your price range.

Picholine during lunch is $28 for a two course meal and the food is also excellent. It isn't terribly casual though, it will be more of your fine dining experience.

For casual with a view, there is also Landmarc in the Time Warner building that will fit your price range and if you get seated by the windows you can look out over Columbus Circle and into Central Park.

The Modern Bar Room would be great for desserts and people watching. It's open all afternoon.

Ditto. It's the front casual area of the Modern restaurant, next door to MoMA. There's a bar, lounge seating, a banquette, and freestanding tables.

Don't miss the beignets.
