While that is true in the San Gabriel Valley, one should definitely call first in other parts of the LA area.

Another source (for both Christmas day and New Year's day) via the LA Times: http://www.latimes.com/features/food/...

      2. We are going to The India Restaurant in Artesia, but I think they only have beer and wine.

        1. I would check on Mistral in Sherman Oaks. A glitzy bistro with excellent food aand a great wine list (I don't know what their corkage is but I know they offer it). Just have them put a candle in your chocolate or grand marnier souffle. Love this place for the food, the service and the ambience (bistros can get a bit noisy).

          1. Open Table is always the best place to start for these things:

and i can't recall who posted it, but i remembered seeing an LA Weekly link in a similar thread so i Googled...

            oh, and Happy Birthday!

            1. Always Pacific Dining Car. And 365 days a year 24/7 as well at The Pantry.

How about a pull-out-all-the-stops Christmas breakfast birthday celebration? Attentive white glove service and full bar [love those Southern classics].

But then, the full menu is available as well.

Not a fan of PDC, but if there ever was a time, that seems like it.

              2. BTW, only at the Sixth Street location.

                1. Ir you want to make the drive up the coast Neptune's Net is open even if PCH isn't.

                  1. In case people are interested, Spring for Coffee is open a half day on Christmas. It's one of the best places in LA for pour-over coffee.

                    1. In Culver City, k-zo is open with their regular menu. (I think they have a full bar.) I'll be there.

                      1. Mako on Beverly Drive is open...I just got an email from them telling me so.

                        1. No specific recommendations, but if you happen to enjoy any hotel restaurants (i know, not usually), they are likely to be open. Travelers still have to eat. A call is always a good idea, though. We usually do find ourselves at a Chinese restaurant (traditional Jewish Christmas - movie and Chinese food), but like raytamsgv pointed out, call first.

                          1. Genghis Cohen on Fairfax is open.

740 N Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046

                            1. Izzy's Deli on Wilshire and 15th is open. I've had dinner there on the 25th for the last few years.

                              Izzy's Deli
1433 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90403

                              1. I know that Cafe Bizou on Ventura is open, maybe the one in Santa Monica is open too. Also, Delmonicos on Venutura is also open. McCormick and Schmicks are open too.

                                Cafe Bizou
