Foodie Bride and Groom
My fiance and I are big food lovers, that's the second most important part of our reception. Origionally we were looking at the Stone House at Sterling Ridge but they are booked.
We have been searching for places all over northern NJ for our fall 2011 wedding. Any suggestions for places? We have a decent budget to work with, luckily thanks to our our families;)
We had our wedding at the PNC Reception Center. It's not really northern NJ but it's not too far (I'm originally from Bergen County). The ground are really nice especially if you're luckier than me and it doesn't rain so you can have the ceremony outside. But most importantly the food was great. Everyone still says how it was some of the best food they've had at a wedding. I got to actually taste most of it and I have to agree.
I feel like I may have said this before (search for other wedding venue threads), but we got married at Perona Farms in Andover, NJ. A foodie heaven! Their happy hour was a "Jersey Fresh" theme, and the offerings were beyond wonderful. Their house-made smoked salmon is famous, and the service was terrific. We got married in October 2008. Take a trip up there - they only do catering and Sunday brunch, so if you want to try the food, definitely do the Sunday brunch.

I think the best wedding for food my husband and I have ever been to in the NY/NJ metro area has to be the Venetian in Garfield, NJ. Oh my....!!! We love food as well, and this wedding was over 6 years ago, and we are still talking about ALL of the food!!! I remember we had surf and turf for dinner and the filet was cooked perfectly medium and the lobster tails were great! Not overcooked!!! (For once in a restaurant!!)
The cocktail hour I could go on and on.....of course every budget, but I really liked this place!!! Their pics are beautiful, so I hope that helps!!!!!
Congrats and good luck!!
