60th Birthday party venue

I am planning my mom's 60th birthday party coming up in May. Any ideas as to where we can have it? There will be approx 40 ppl. I can't afford to spend alot of money, but don't want to go some place that won't be nice. Looking for ideas for either a hotel banquet room, or restaurant that has a private room for parties.

All I know is that you're looking for a private room for 40 people somewhere in the metro Phoenix area, preferably at neither the Ritz Carlton nor Golden Corral. At the top of the Phoenix board, there's a post titled "New to the Phoenix board? Read this first". Go read it. The answers to your question may already be on this board. If your own research doesn't answer your question, then we can be much more helpful if you give us some specifics. The biggest helps for us:
Where in town do you want to do this? Metro Phoenix is HUGE.
How much, in dollars per person or total, are you planning to spend? What is a pittance for me could be a fortune for you.

Also, does the room need to be private?

To add to JK's questions, Metro Phoenix is over 500 Sq. miles, so what could be convenient to me, might be a real drive to you. Same for that price-point.
