Anyone Been to Il Gattopardo?
I was walking by the MOMA a short while ago and saw what I thought may be a promising menu at a restaurant called Il Gattopardo. I didn't find much on chowhound about it so I thought I'd ask if anyone has been and has any opinions?

Check out the previous threads linked from Chow's Il Gattopardo page (linked from your post). They're a starting point, at least.

re: XerxesAB
I've been once, as a guest. While I enjoyed the food, it was a while ago and so I'm afraid I can't really provide a lot of details. I remember my friend spoke at some length with the owner or manager about the wine we ordered. Owner / manager was solicitous (perhaps no surprise there). Space was a bit tight, in the sense that it's a narrow townhouse, if I'm not mistaken. Noise-level definitely made it hard to converse, which was a nuisance. If I had to summarize, I would say the food and service were very good. I suspect the tab was pretty high. If someone wanted to take me to Il Gattopardo I would glad go, but if I were going on my dime, it wouldn't be my first (or second ...) choice.
I recently had a lovely dinner at Basso 56. While I was fortunate, once again, to have been the guest, I'm sure Basso's tab came in much lower. That said, I don't mean to suggest that the two restaurants are direct comps, just that Basso seems to offer greater value. Bistro Milano is another good Italian, imo, and is in the same neighborhood as Il Gattopardo. But it's been over a year at this point since I've eaten at Bistro Milano.
Hope that helps.
