Help! My tangerine dust is clumping!
I think I got the idea from morwen and goodhealthgourmet -- dehydrate slices of tangerine (used clementines and blood oranges) and then pulverize the crispy slices to make a lovely dust for sprinkling and to give as gifts. So, exactly as advertized my tangerine dust is beautiful and very tasty but it is clumping. Those slices were really crispy (took MUCH longer than 3 hours in the dehydrator) and I pulverized them fresh out of the dehydrator so despite what my skin says, it must be the ambient moisture in the air around here. Only thing I can think of is to add a few grains of rice to each bottle I make up. Any other thoughts?

Mine clumps a bit too but I just stir it up in the bottle with a toothpick or skewer before using and it fluffs right up.
Did you let the dried slices cool before pulverizing? Pulverizing them creates heat as well (which is why I pulse and stop the FP during the process). It's possible that the dust picked up moisture heating up and cooling down.
Beyond that the only thing I can think of to do would be to spread the dust out on something like a baking sheet and drying it carefully on the lowest setting in the oven with the door propped open. Or, if you have old-style radiators, sitting the sheet on top of one of those.
