Cafe Lurcat NYE in Naples - Upstairs or Downstairs Dining?
We're a bit late in making reservations for New Year's Eve this year, but I've managed to nab a table at Cafe Lurcat for my husband, me, and a few of our friends. We are being offered either downstairs patio seating (with plentiful space heaters, I'm told) or a table in the dining room upstairs. They seem like drastically different dining experiences. For those who have been to the restaurant, which option would you recommend? We are looking for elegant and luxurious, yet lively and not overly stuffy. Many thanks in advance for your help.

tried Lurcat not too soon after they opened and although we were seated upstairs i felt like it was the worst table--sort of like Siberia (as they say in NY)--maybe they thought we wanted to be alone--very alone--because of that have never been back (and was not impressed with the food either--on the same level as the defunct Zoe's and Trilogy--overpriced and "good".

I think the upstairs room at Cafe Lurcat is the prettiest in town with Chagall like murals on the vaulted ceiling and a golden glow to the room. Everyone looks great in the room. I've always loved my food there and have had a great time. I thought the bar area a little forced and trying too hard to be South Beach like. Just my opinion. Hope you get others.
