  1. Why? My Hubby is diabetic. The only item we "Splenda" instead of sugar is iced tea (which he consumes a lot of).

We generally portion-control desserts made by the usual recipe. Each main ingredient has a purpose and affects the outcome.

In spite of the manufacturer's hype, I have never found a "Splenda"-ed item to come out right.

eliz553, no she is not diabetic, she is dieting, strickly no sugar....I know, I know, if you can't indulge this time of year.... I am just thinking, would the splenda site have better recipes for having cookies turn out well????? I will check that out. Thanks for the info.

    2. Try looking up a chocolate meringue recipe. Granulated splenda (made so that it is a 1 to 1 substitute for sugar) works great in meringues and pavlovas. Also look up a French macaroon recipe that calls for ground almonds which are low in carbs.
