SF Vietnamese recommendation - something like Vung Tau in San Jose

I'm looking for a vietnamese restaurant in SF or surrounding area that serves something similar to Vung Tau in San Jose (http://www.vungtaurestaurant.com/menu...). The dishes that I liked in my visit there include: banh khot (rice flour cupcakes), any of the fried fish, tamarind soup. I really like how there are options other than the pho, rice plate + grilled meat, cold noodle salad, crabs + garlic noodle, beef 7 ways. Also like how the pork stew at Vung Tau comes with a sprout slaw. In general this restaurant really nails my idea of vietnamese food.

Some of the restaurants that come up during my search are: Slanted door (i like, but too fancy for everyday eating), Yummy yummy (this is not it, not a big fan of this place),bodega bistro (doesn't have a menu like Vung Tau), Pagolac (yea, not it). I'm not quite sure how to explain what i'm looking for, hope Vung Tau's menu helps. Would really appreciate help, i'm really craving good vietnamese food right now. Thank you!!

Maybe Quan Bac on Geary? They have a pretty extensive menu.
